World Invasion Battle Los Angeles – Review

Is this movie is straight out of United States recruitment advertising firm? Muhahaha

That is my first thought after walking out of the theater.

I’m not saying I don’t like this film but there are too many parts felt too similar to other films making it pretty predictable hence the lack of “shock” in the theater but I spot a couple of tears by some kids.

This movie is like family safe for the kids to watch because there are not much blood in this movie…ok maybe a little…but not so much gore to the extend to make the zombie fans cheer.

The action is packed from the middle of the movie to the end but the dialogues may sounds flat & not well thought out but it may be like that in the real combat situation.

Plots full of holes I can easily put some scene totally out if you watch it with an analytical mind, however if you go in with an OPEN mind you can actually enjoy this movie!

What I am saying, put your brains back home when you watch this movie! Don’t put this movie through the mythbuster test.

For those who had SEEN this movie read below otherwise it’s “SPOILERS ALERT!”

The special effects may look familiar to youtube “UFO” viewers as it seems to had appeared several years back as the first viral “Haiti UFO”.

Any respectable UFO believer had long scrutinized the above video due to fact it’s using a advanced CGI software. (e-on Software)

The palm trees appeared in the 56seconds range.

So after determined that the movie uses some known CGI software “expertly” I must add plus some clever viral marketing on youtube, you get your mega block buster! :D

One of the 4 legs robots the aliens pushed around looked suspiciously like the “Big Dog” robotic mule that had been making it’s debut on youtube too!

Let’s list down the scenes where the director “copied” from other movies :D

  1. Black Hawk Down - Helicopter ride, Several soldiers trapped indoor with wounded & last scene
  2. Saving Private Ryan – For the small girl dropping from an height, the soldier with radio on high tower
  3. Independence Day – Stupid aliens to put all eggs in one basket (I mean mother ship)
  4. District 9- the special weapon system is amazing in District 9
  5. V- the television on aliens arriving on earth “in peace” as Aaron Eckhart looks suspiciously like Joel Gretsch

Overall, the movie is a mindless action packed military movie or should I say commercial for recruitment into marine.

It’s fun, exciting & get to blow some aliens *beep* off just like your xBox games! Ok, where do I sign?

Anyway, for people who seeking a deep plot with real science…you will be disappointed but for those who love to see another mindless action fun…go enjoy it! :D

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World – movie review!

Holy shit! This movie totally rocks! Yes! Finally a action comedy movie with enough action & comedy that makes me literary LOL!!

To be honest, I haven’t really get to know about the legacy of what Scott Pilgrim is all about until I saw this movie!

According to wikipedia, Scott Pilgrim is a graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O’Malley.

The graphic novel got huge & apparently the game is created in PS3 & Xbox Live Arcade too with similar background as Scott Pilgrim!

This movie have one of the most awesome fight sequences & special effects that is finally COOL compared to all other Hollywood adaptation of game fight sequences!

There are so many delicious cast in this movie that makes it so “pretty” & attractive to keep watching and the music is AWESOME!!

I simply can’t get enough!!

The live of Scott Pilgrim is simply so weird yet super cool!

The battle of the bands depiction in the movie really brings out the coolness factor with all the spectacular colors & graphics!

DO NOT WATCH THIS IN 3D, go for 2D as most of the movie is shot in 2D hence it’s best leave that dark 3D glasses away and buy the 2D version! :D

This is going to rock your world! :D

4 out of 5 Stars!

The Horde – Review!

When detective Mathias Rivoallan is found murdered by the gang led by the Nigerian Markudi (Eriq Ebouaney), detectives Jimenez (Aurélien Recoing), Aurore (Claude Perron), Ouessem (Jean-Pierre Martins) and Tony (Antoine Oppenheim) decide to revenge the death of his friend.

The vigilantes plot bloodshed, executing Markudi, his brother Bola (Doudou Masta) and the other gangsters in the abandoned building where they are gathered.

Then all hell broke loose!!! A battle between cops, gangsters and free running zombies began!!

I won’t tell you the whole story but basically that’s the backbone of the movie but what makes this a wonderful horror film is the acting of everyone including the zombies!

The action is FAST and relentless and you can see the “zombies” get really really hurt!!

The stunt men in the zombies really needs to “suffer” lot’s of brutal punching, kicking, slashing and getting hit by lot’s of types of guns from pistol hand gun, shotgun, machine gun to full fledge chain gun!!!

The fighting in this movie really FIGHTS and you can almost feel the bone crushing action in every possible way against the zombies haha!!

This is the types of actions I dreamt about in my own mind about what zombie movies should have, REAL fighting not some kick and bang with brains out but real fight when possible.

Unfortunately there are some plot holes in the movie that I don’t think is logical with their decisions, but to make this movie a more action packed movie…the director tried to use the most illogical plot in the movie to create spectacular horror action movie.

Not going to spoil it for you but when you watched it you will KNOW what I’m talking about, maybe if the director is making a television series they won’t choose this plot but give MORE of the amazing casts a chance to survive this end of the world zombie scenario!!

Yes, as expected of all zombie movies, there will be blood…lot’s of it!

I will grade this movie A minus with illogical plot but fantastic acting & special effects!
