Facebook had done it again.

I guess facebook had done it again…it’s hard to know more friends in facebook.

I’m blocked from adding friends for 7 days.

If I had added you, it’s only because you are friend of friend who commented on my friend’s post. I won’t know you by random, I’m not that crazy to keep adding strangers randomly.

I know some users love to be PRIVATE and don’t want to share their lives with strangers…you can always put me as “acquaintances” and limit the things in your profile like photos from “acquaintances”.

The privacy setting is so much better than before or compared with Google+ or twitter much more better in facebook now that there are NO reason to not accept new friends.

So facebook prefer to stop people from knowing more people in facebook and keep to their “real life” friends that you really know…instead of knowing friends of friends…then facebook is dead to me.

The experience in facebook is like a community gathering.

1. Someone posted an article, everyone who know that person responded.

2. All the people responded to that article can see each other.

3. They turn around and say hi hi..can I know you.

4. If the person reject fine, but facebook simply kill the “hi hi” for 7 days.

If that is the case why allow strangers to see comments of that articles in the first place? Why let us see comments from people we DON’T KNOW?

Facebook please set something up so that people who DON’T WANT NEW FRIENDS TO SET THEIR COMMENTS PRIVATE ON EACH ARTICLE SO NOBODY ELSE LIKE ME CAN SEE THEM AND WANT TO KNOW THEM.

Let them be lonely forever…and be with their real life friends…only and NEVER KNOW MORE NEW FRIENDS.

Why punish the friendly people who like to know more friends? So facebook is punishing sociable people?..

Not a good way to promote a social network.

Stop spreading hate.

Let me write a fictional story, a horror story.

It’s fake and it may become real if we let our intolerance & hate get spiral out of control.

It may or may not happen but I sincerely wish it won’t but I hope we should be more tolerant to stupid people & just click the block button instead of screenshot & spread to the media (stomp).

December 21, 2012 Singapore

10:00 AM: A few hundreds of racist commenters in facebook, twitter & youtube got their account suspended.

11:00 AM: A few thousands of new accounts created with a few million racist comments got published.

9:00 PM Local Singapore authorities issued a statement in the media (news, stomp.com.sg) that in view of wide spread hostility in the cyberspace they will discuss a new law in the next emergency parliament discussion.

December 22, 2012 Singapore

Singapore government decided to put forth a new law to protect people online from hostility & bullying in all social networks. All ISP will hand over private internet user’s details if there’s a complaint to the new governmental hotline.

Users will first get an email warning & their social network account suspended, 2nd warning is an suspension of internet services with early termination penalty. Third strikes will be fines or jail time.

Any users in Singapore that falls within the legal frame work will lose all their internet freedom and will be monitored for all activities.

December 23, 2012 Singapore

Riots started in the streets between different races, religion & FT with stones thrown…flags of different races shooting make shift flame throwers.

Riot police join in the riot after one of the riot police thrown down their uniform and join in the riot…as all of them are of different races & many are not even born here.

Soldiers deployed with many are PR status too…

December 24, 2012 Singapore.

Angry riots caused severe property damage to cars, shopping centers and thousands are killed or injured and thousands loses their jobs.

Police shoot to kill for anyone with a weapon.

This day will be remembered as the day we die for no good reason but ourselves to blame.

Stop spreading hate.

Everyone have to do their part in not spreading hate, even in the official media. I question their intention to reveal their race or nationality.

There should be a disclaimer in every such news: All race & nationality are changed due to the sensitivity of the news with respect to the Singapore multi-national environment.

I feel a sense of anger in local community and that sense is growing, the only way to reduce that is for the government to promote equality treatment to both FT & Locals for everything from housing, education, grants, loans, and more.

We are singing our national anthem with pride about equality and harmony and our government should promote that and not be misguided in the name of growth.

Without peace & harmony, there will be no growth.

Youtube finally managed to get my friend’s account back!

Remember the last blog post I did on “Youtube is not what it used to be anymore

That post started off when one of my facebook friend’s youtube account got “terminated” with reasons of weird “Impersonation” of someone else.

The great news is, she gotten back her youtube account!

And you can see her wacky videos once more!

I do hope youtube can verify termination reasons before terminating people, at least notify the user in advance so that they can proof who they are or amend what’s wrong with their account.

Automating termination or flagging copyright infringement without proper verification by a proper process is ridiculous.

The most important of all to have a real person to inspect & verify the claims of the problematic accounts or videos BEFORE sending the emails.

DO it right the first time, not accuse people without proper investigation!

I’m glad Youtube had re-activated her account and let’s hope there are no such problems in the future again. :D
