Singtel Offer Upgrade My iPhone 3G plans for Free!

Yesterday night, I had a revelation about switching my telco from Singtel to M1 and wrote an email to Singtel about my intentions.

I wrote about how the new telco plans are so much cheaper and the potential savings I can get if I ever switch over and get a new iPhone 3Gs Plus higher data usage of 10GB vs my 512MB limit.

This morning I get an SMS from my telco Singtel as shown below.

I was like, OMG Singtel response really quick! It’s like they had set up a war room to reply all inquiries and emails with immediate counter offer!

Well, I am not sure if you have the same SMS on your iPhone 3G but this means I do not need to terminate my existing plans on my iPhone 3G that potentially cost me SGD$856 early termination fees quoted from Singtel website.

For new customers who terminate within the three month minimum subscription period, three months’ list price on the respective price plans plus an $856 equipment penalty will still apply.

For terminations after the minimum three months subscription period, the $856 equipment penalty will apply. For existing customers who terminate at anytime within the contract period, the $856 equipment penalty will apply.

However that means I won’t be able to upgrade my iPhone 3G to a more advanced iPhone 3Gs with video recording capabilities & faster processors to run bigger applications.

Now, it’s a tough decision time…maybe I need to ask more questions about possibility of upgrading my iPhone 3G to 3Gs hardware TOGETHER with the FREE iPhone Plan upgrade!

Of course by paying for a new hardware minus the cost of the old iPhone 3G trade in.

Am I asking for too much?

Twouble with Twitters

This cartoon portrayed some of the bad usage of twitter, which are only to update status …now we can really communicate by Replies & Direct Messages plus # channels a.k.a. Rooms (which is unofficial but click-able by many twitter clients).

The cartoon is hilarious regardless how politically incorrect about it since I had known many friends in Twitter and had even met up with some (hands up if you are one!) so one day we shall be one of the many who tweets about how many actual friends we get to know via twitter compared to the old social networking websites such as “friendsters”, “Myspace”, “facebook” and “SecondLife” Faint!.

Twitter inspires & motivates me to do something new everyday and tweet about it and every tweets shows me a path to what I am going to do or doing! It’s shaping my life as you know it and probably will give me more motivation to finish my personal projects to save the world!! LOL (No kidding about the saving the world part)

One day, everyone will look upon twitter as not just a platform for updating status but a INTERNATIONAL INTERNET RELAY CHAT compared to the old IRC it’s IIRC!!! IRC separates many chats into boring chat rooms and lonely anonymous usernames that always get flamed for no reasons and can’t block people you don’t like whereas Twitter can unfollow people or even block spam users that tries to sell their male organ enlarger!!

Twitter celebrity that have more REAL HUMAN followers and trust every tweets the twitter celebrity tweets about should be given a job as reviewer of ALL PRODUCTS FOR FREE!! Twitter celebrity review this gadgets in 140 char that states how cool it is, where to get it and a follow up tweets on the usage and continue with his other tweets.

The cartoon above shows some bad example of celebrity twitter user, yes they do get lot’s of followers but they don’t follow back much hence don’t even reply back to most of the followers. It’s a ONE WAY TRAFFIC CELEBRITY (I call it OWTC) which is bad however I don’t encourage everyone to follow EVERYONE back if they follow you since some of the people who FINDS your account primary motive is to market some products or scams to you that you didn’t asked for hence select HUMAN twitter followers to follow back.

How to recognize a NONE HUMAN Twitter User or Marketeers to AVOID following them.

  1. Check for repeated tweets (bots usually have repeated text or links in their tweets in short period of time)
  2. Check for “in replies” of their latest tweets to see if they are really replying to a real human account
  3. Check for PROMOTIONAL Tweets that promtes something that you don’t like in every tweets
  4. Aggressive followers that follows too much people with too little followers that follow him/her (Unpopular or Spam)
  5. Have only less than 10 tweets and have thousands of followers.
  6. Have weird twitter account names that is not “readable” signaled an automated account creation.
  7. Have the famous twitter bot profiles such as “Your Horny Kitty” to “Britney Sex Tapes” which must BLOCK them to signal to @twitter to suspend them!

There are real human twitter users that unfortunately joined some twitter games or application online that auto spam their own accounts such as “SPYMASTER” must take note, you will LOSE ALL YOUR HUMAN FOLLOWERS EASILY!!! So keep those spymaster games auto tweets in check or people will find them spammy and unfollow you.

My First Electric Bicycle!!

Yesterday was my first day with an electric bicycle!! It is made from China but the design looks uber cool!

This I had been saving up for nearly 3 months and even bought the helmet way back with a matching goggles to go with it! :)

I had used it to travel to nearby bank to deposit a cheque and comes back in time to pay my bills at the AXS Station at Bukit Gombak MRT.

The feeling of total freedom from hard peddling is extremely refreshing! I even heard some chatters by motorcyclist on the road exclaiming in awe that “THAT IS A BICYCLE!!”.

The bicycle comes with alarm system linked with motion sensors to prevent any unauthorized “touching”, a wheel lock mechanism to prevent anyone from pushing the bicycle away.

I also employ an additional chain lock to deter any kinds of normal thief to have the idea of stealing it.

On top of that, I added a box behind for my “barang barang” (things) storage such as rain coat, chain lock, helmet and any valuables that I felt uncomfortable to put in the basket at the front.

The bicycle is small enough to fit the lift at my home and too heavy for any one person thief to carry it.

The battery also comes with a secure lock so that nobody can extract the batteries without my keys.

The overall feeling is still overwhelming in excitement tingling on my skin….and can’t wait for another excursion with my brand new electric bicycle! :)

My next upgrade is a GPS attachment to my PSP (playstation portable) that I think can help me navigate around Singapore.
